Mt. Huashan is located in Weinan City, 120 kilometers east from Xi’an City of Shaanxi Province. Known for its breath-taking sheer cliffs, Mount Huashan is one of the five sacred mountains in China, the other four mountains are: Mt. Taishan in Shandong, Mt. Hengshan in Hunan, Mt. Hengshan in Shanxi, and Mt. Songshan in Henan. (Xian Tours)
Huashan Trail, known as the World’s Most Dangerous Hiking Trail, is not about mountain-climbing but hiking. No special equipment is needed – it’s just you, and the mountain. But in some of the the most perilous parts of the trail, like “Changkong Zhandao” (长空栈道), one false step could mean falling in the abyss below.
Mt. Huashan is also home to several influential Taoist temples where emperors of past dynasties made pilgrimages, making it the holy land of Taoism. The best visiting time to Mt. Huashan is through May to October. (More related guides please visit http://www.chinatourguide.com/xian/index.html)
